Biography

I graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1985, with a BA (hons) Design, specialising in furniture and ceramics. After graduation I spent several months working in Nigeria before beginning my post-degree working life expanding my practical skills in a small furniture restoration business in Perthshire.

In 1988 I began a Scottish Development Agency funded Conservation Training Scheme in furniture and woodwork at the Burrell Collection, Glasgow. During my 2 years at the Burrell Collection I was continually learning, and working on objects from the city's extensive museums collections.

I have worked as a freelance furniture and woodwork conservator/restorer since 1990, based in Glasgow. I accept commissions from museums, galleries, and private clients throughout the country.

I live in Waterfoot, near Glasgow, with my partner and daughter.

I'm an ordinary member of ICON and a member of the Regional Furniture Society (Scottish Section).
